You’ll find the cache in a neighbourhood that is easily accessible.
In case of rainy weather, we advise you to bring along your boots due to the wet grass.
The geocacher also has to bring along a mirror.
Dit is de derde cachezoektocht, uit de serie van 6, waarbij 4 verschillende locaties dienen bezocht.
Op drie van deze locaties woonden,bij het ontstaan van de O-Lieve Vrouwkerk,1 van de 12 voornaamste geslachten van de gemeente.
De namen van deze hofsteden dienen,zoals bij de vorige caches, genoteerd, daar zij nodig zijn om de laatste cachezoektocht te kunnen uitvoeren.
Het eerste “hof” dat wij bezoeken bevindt zich op de locatie N 51°00.090’ en E 4°07.359’ dit is WP1.
De hofstede die zich hier bevond heette Hof te Canteel,spijtig genoeg is hier het infobordje met afbeelding verdwenen.
Op deze locatie vind je het clublokaal van een jeugdbeweging.
Op de muur hiervan vind je een bord waarop het telefoonnummer van de verantwoordelijke uitbater is vermeld.
De coördinaten van WP2 zijn N Y°59.635’ en E X°07.603’.
Om de coördinaten van WP 2 te vervolledigen dien je alleen nog de graden N en E te bepalen aan de hand van het telefoonnummer t.t.z.je dient Y te vervangen door een getal gelijk aan het zonenummer-2 en X door het eerste cijfer van het telefoonnummer vermeerdert met 1.
Op de locatie van WP 2 staat nog steeds een oude hoeve die momenteel voor een ander doel wordt gebruikt.
Hier vindt men terug een infobordje met een afbeelding van weleer en met de vermelding van het “hof”(te noteren).
Op de onderzijde van dit infobordje vindt je de coördinaten van WP 3(spiegeltje gebruiken).
Op de locatie van WP 3 staat eveneens een oude,nog bewoonde hoeve.
Op het infobordje vindt u een afbeelding en de benaming van het “hof”.
De coördinaten van WP 4 vind je opnieuw terug op de onderzijde van dit infobordje.
WP 4 heeft op zich niets te maken met de 12 geslachten maar is wel een zeer specifiek punt.Het is namelijk het grenspunt van 3 gemeenten t.t.z;Lebbeke,Sint-Gillis(Dendermonde),en Denderbelle(deelgemeente van Lebbeke).
Wanneer je vanuit dit punt in zuidelijke richting kijkt zie je, in de onmiddellijke omgeving, een gebruiksvoorwerp opgesteld dat momenteel voor een ander doel wordt gebruikt (de naam is een drieletterig woord).
Van dit gebruiksvoorwerp staan er hier verschillende opgesteld ,de naam van dit gebruiksvoorwerp en het aantal ervan dienen genoteerd,we noemen dit getal “g”.
Eveneens tref je op deze plaats een aantal grote bomen aan waarvan het aantal dient genoteerd,we noemen dit getal “b”.
Bepaling van de cachepositie
Om de locatie van de cache te vinden dient men vooreerst het “perfecte”zwaartepunt te bepalen van de vlakke figuur gevormd doorWP1-WP2-WP3 en WP4
Dit zwaartepunt valt samen met twee, tegen elkaar gebouwde 3-gevelwoningen (halfopen bebouwing).
De huisnummers van beide woningen dienen genoteerd.
Voor de bepaling van het zwaartepunt zijn verschillende methodes mogelijk, waarbij de gebruikte methode,en de nauwkeurigheid waarmee dit gebeurd bepalend zijn om de juiste coördinaten te bepalen.
Indien bij de bepaling van dit zwaartepunt fouten worden gemaakt zal het dan ook onmogelijk zijn om de juiste locatie van de cache te vinden.
De cache bevindt zich op een afstand Y(northing) en op een afstand X(easting) gemeten vanaf het zwaartepunt en uitgedrukt in meters.
waarbij Y gelijk is aan het driecijferig getal dat men verkrijgt door de letters van het drieletterig gebruiksvoorwerp,aangetroffen in WP4,te vervangen door hun respectievelijke rangorde in het alfabet(a=1,b=2,c=3…) en hiervan het getal A af te trekken
Waarin A=som van de huisnummers van de woningen die samenvallen met het zwaartepunt vermeerderd met 2g.
en waarbij men X verkrijgt door het hoogste huisnummer,samenvallend met zwaartepunt,te vermeerderen met 2b+2.
Als hint kan worden meegegeven dat de cache zich niet bevindt op privaat terrein en dat het niet toegelaten is om privaat eigendom te betreden.
Hij ligt verborgen in een plastic buis met een diameter van 120mm en een lengte van ca.300mm onder een betonnen steen bedekt met een paar centimeters losse grond (er zijn geen werktuigen nodig om hem boven te halen).
Wanneer men vanop de cachelocatie kijkt in noordoostelijke richting ziet men de kerktoren onder een vlakke hoek van ca.78° t.o.z. van het noorden.
(onder voorbehoud van de te hoge gewassen op dat ogenblik).

This cache is the third of six in the city of Lebbeke and in order to find this cache four locations have to be visited.
During the building of the O.-L.-Vrouw church, 3 of the 12 most prominent families in Lebbeke lived on these locations. The names of all these homesteads must be noted in order to find the final cache (number 6).
You’ll find the first homestead at site N 51°00.090’ and E 4°07.359’ this is WP1.
The name of this homestead is “Hof te Canteel’ (unfortunately the info sign with a picture of this homestead no longer is present).
On this site you’ll find the premises of a youth movement.
On the wall of these premises you’ll find a sign with the phone number of the responsible manager.
The co-ordinates of WP2 are N Y°59.635’ and E X°07.603’.
In order to complete the co-ordinates of WP2, you’ll only have to determine the degrees of N and E through the phone number i.e. you have to replace
Y with a number equal to the area number reduced with 2 and
X with the first digit of the phone number increased by 1
On the location of WP2 there is still an old farm that nowadays is used for another purpose. Here you’ll find an info sign with the name of the homestead and a picture like it was before (to be noted).
At the bottom of the info sign, you’ll find the coordinates of WP 3. In order to read this, you’ll need a mirror.
On the location of WP 3, you’ll find also an info sign with the name and a picture of the homestead which is still occupied.
At the bottom of the info sign you’ll find the coordinates of WP 4.
WP 4 has nothing to do with the homesteads where the 12 families lived, but it is a very specific point, because it’s the border point between 3 municipalities
(Lebbeke, Sint-Gillis (Dendermonde) and Denderbelle (part of Lebbeke).
When you, from this point,look at the south then you see an object that nowadays is used for another purpose (the dutch name of 3 characters and the number-named “g”- that you find of this object have to be written down).
On this location there are some big trees, you have to note their number(named “b”) as well.
Determination of the position of the cache:
- You have to define the exact center of gravity of the quadrangle, formed by WP1-WP2-WP3-WP4 .
(when the coordinates of this point are not perfectly defined, it will not be possible to find the cache).
This point coincides with the position of two isolated houses.
The house numbers of both houses have to be noted.
In order to find this point there are a few methods, depending of the method and the accuracy of the calculation, you’ll find the perfect point.
In case of mistakes, it will be impossible to find the location of the cache.
- Starting from this point you have to measure a distance Y (northing) and a distance X (easting) in meters to locate the cache.
To obtain Y you must start with the name of 3 characters found at WP 4 and you have to replace each character of this word by his place in the alphabet (a=1, b=2, c=3…).
From this number you have to decrease the number A.
This number A=sum of the house numbers found on the gravity point of wp1,wp2,wp3 and wp4 increased with 2g.
The value of X is equal at the sum of the highest house number found on the gravity point increased with 2b+2.
Hint: The cache will not be found at private property and it is not allowed to enter a private property.
The cache is hidden in a plastic tube with a diameter of 120 mm and a length of + 300 mm. You’ll find it underneath a concrete top stone at approximately 2 cm under the ground(you don’t need a tool to lift it).
When you arrive at the cache position and you look to the northeast, you can see the spire of the church on a flat angle from 78° to the north.
