The BIG Orange Travel Bug Convention Center is committed to
providing superior accommodation to Travel Bugs in the Michiana
area. This cache is such an imposing facility that guests will be
able to see it as they approach. In fact Travel Bugs can look down
and spot the cache as they are on their final approach to the South
Bend Airport. It is located on private property, but is placed with
the owners permission. The way you can be sure you are at the right
property is that you will be able to EASILY see the cache from the
street (Echo Valley) before getting out of your car. (IF you think
you don’t know what you are looking for read the name of the cache
(BIG and ORANGE !) If you cannot
find this cache, we suggest you trade in your GPS and buy a dog to
help you cross the street.
Note: This is a daytime only cache. Please
do not come after dark, as the neighbor is an
accomplished marksman. However during daylight hours we would love
to meet the cachers, so don’t hesitate ringing the doorbell, and
saying hello.

The Travel Bug Convention Center is large enough to accommodate
Travel Bug drops of any size. Travel bugs can swim on the property
as well as arrange for cruise excursions on the scenic St Joseph
River and there is plenty of free parking (however no valet
service). The Travel bugs are always treated as VIP guests and
assigned the Penthouse Suite. Although primarily devoted to Travel
Bugs, all cachers are welcome to stop and visit this unusually
large cache and trade the normal geocaching trinkets.
This cache serves as the new Headquarters for
MaxB’s Escorted Travel Bug Group
Tours, which was relocated to these larger modern
facilities. Travel Bugs who would like to go to different regions
of the country will be accepted for upcoming MaxB Escorted TB Group
Tours, which has moved travel bugs over 23 Million Miles.
(Equivelent of going to moon and back 46 times!) This cache will
often be the departure or arrival point for MaxB’s TB Tours.
