This is an underwater cache for swimmers and divers. The cache
is located at the above coords. about 5 feet underwater. We
recommend you swim with a partner. Do not attempt this cache if you
are not a good swimmer or cannot swim for at least 30 min. No
special equipment is needed although we do suggest a snorkel, mask,
fins, and/or a floatation device...and unless your GPS is
waterproof, we suggest you use a waterproof container to protect
it. The short hike down to the water is also a little steep. There
can be fishermen, kayakers and other snorkelers/divers in the area
so please remember your water etiquette.
For a more complete description of the cache area, we suggest
the book "The Divers' Guide to Maui" by Chuck Thorn, page 22,
McGregor Point (Lighthouse).
OK...here is try #5!! This container is a
Nalgene bottle with a few loose sheets of rite in the rain paper,
two pencils, two geoteaming bandanas, and the "Our Hawaiian Ohana"
geocoin. Hurry folks....this one has done many disappearing tricks
on us and may not be there for long. We tried to move the anchor (which has
never disappeared), but it is now part of the ocean, so if this one
goes missing, we will buy a new anchor and move this to another
location. BTW, one of our other caches (Viking Rock) is located
within 100 feet of the west entry point for this
cache.
Please have fun and be safe!
