Geocache Description:

Watch this space for cancellation notice. There is no snow date. Bring your GPS-r and travel bugs, and your winter woolies! We're going to teach geocaching to members of the Androscoggin Land Trust.

International Paper has recently donated some large acreage to the Androscoggin Land Trust. We're going to share our knowledge and show ALT members another way to enjoy these lands, in appreciation to ALT for being allowed to cache here. Because we don't expect to have any electricity out in the town hall parking lot, we'll be handing out printed pages for log-able caches. Plan to tackle 2 to 3 difficulty terrain, but we won't torture you by making you search for dastardly micro's in the snow. If you haven't cached in the Jay area, you will want to run a pocket query as well.

Meet at 10 A.M. in front of the old Canton Municipal Building on Route 140. There is a short introductory presentation, during which you should plan to buddy up with an ALT member or friend to show them how your GPS receiver works. You can visit the nonloggable caches right there on site or take off to any of the others. We'll provide a tailgate area for your coins and TB's for trading or discovery. Bring your own lunch or plot with your new buddies to stop at local eateries.
