Breathtaking ist der 1. der 3
Reichenstein caches und auch der schwierigste. Der Weg führt vom
Parkplatz bei der Hirnalm über den Weg Nr. 696 (Zuerst die Wiese
hoch und dann bei einem Forstweg rechts in den Wald) der noch nicht in
den Wanderkarten verzeichnet ist zum Barbarakreuz und dann weiter zur
Fahne. Bis zur Fahne und dem unmittelbar danach platziertem Cache ist
der Grete
Klinger Steig noch sehr zahm und einfach. Die Schlüsselstelle
mit der Schwierigkeit C kommt erst nach dem Cache. So können auch
weniger geübte den Cache noch holen leider aber ohne die sehr
lohnende Überschreitung der Vordernberger Mauern.
Der Helm kann zu Hause bleiben. Wenn man sich bei ausgesetzten
Kletterein unsicher fühlt sollte man das Klettersteigset mitnehmen.
Ab der Schlüsselstelle geht’s mal links mal rechts vom Grat in
unschwieriger Kletterei (max. im 2. Grad) bis zum Rothtörl.
Der Cache heißt „Breathtaking“ weil einem ob des Tiefblicks bei
der Fahne der Atem wegbleibt. Der cache selbst liegt unmittelbar neben
dem Weg und kann gefahrlos gesucht und gehoben werden. Wer die
Rundwanderung machen will sollte sich die Werte für A und B auf der
1. Seite des Logbuchs notieren!
Beim Roththörl muss man sich entscheiden ob man die
lächerlichen 1 ½ Stunden zum Reichenstein mit seinem
Schutzhaus und dem Cache „Breathless“ ( Der Name ist hier Programm)
aufsteigt oder ab hier auf markiertem Weg zum Auto zurückkehrt.
Unbedingt genug Wasser mitnehmen!
Die Reihenfolge der Reichensteiner caches ist: Breathtaking(GCP5QQ), Breathless(GCP5R2),
Hooray! I can breath again.(GCP5R9)Alle 3 sind an einem (langen) Tag bei stabilem Wetter und
guter Kondition zu machen.
Breathtaking is the 1. of the 3 caches in the Reichenstein area and also
the most difficult to reach. The path Nr. 696 leads from the parking at
Hirnalm to the Barbarakreuz and then to the summit called Fahne. Up to
the cache wich is placed close to the summit the path called Grete Klinger
Steig is easy to manage. The key part of the C rated path is after
you reached the cache. Therefore the cache can be found even
inexperienced aspirants but without the well worth crossing of the
Vordernberger Mauern. One can leave the helmet at home but if you feel
unsafe in great height you might want to bring your safety gear.
The cache is named “Brathtaking” because of the the enormous view from
the summit.
The cache itself is right beneath the path and can be searched and
found without any risk. If you want to make the round trip please
note the letter A and B from the 1. page of the logbook!
At the Roththörl one has to decide to climb the Reichenstein with
its inn and the cache “Breathless” ( the name says it all ) within a
ridiculous 1 ½ hours or if you want to go back to the car on the
path that starts here.
Bring loads off water!

Hooray! I can breath again.(GCP5R9)
All 3 caches can be done in one (long) day if you have stable weather
and good endurance.
