Ahnapee Trail Detour Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Wis Kid: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

*** You may come across sections of an old barbed wire fence, although it's mostly down. Just proceed carefully. ***

Ahnapee Trail Detour
The Ahnapee Trail is many things. A rails-to-trails county park. A state trail that runs from Sturgeon Bay to Algoma and then to Casco. It is also a part of the statewide Ice Age Park & Trail. You can learn more about the trail by visiting the website of the Friends of the Ahnapee State Trail here as well as the website of the Ice Age Park & Trail foundation here.

This cache is located slightly off the trail on private land. However, the landowner (me) gives permission to visit the cache providing you obey the following: You must approach from the nearest point to the cache from the trail. Walk back and forth to find the closest entry point. You can deviate a little bit to avoid natural obstacles on your way to the cache, but don't wander too far off track. Of course, no destructive behavior. This cache should be visible during all seasons.
