A roughly 3 mile round trip hike that takes you through a beautiful, scenic nature preserve to a rocky hillside just overlooking big Lake Wallenpaupack.
You can bushwack but walking the posted Big Lake Trail will take you most of the way to the cache. Go off trail for the final search. Find trail maps and information about the preserve in the kiosk at the parking lot. Trails are open everyday from dawn to dusk. Lacawac is a non-profit nature preserve of 545 acres. While here, why not finish the trail for a first hand visit to the largest (1 mile) stretch of Lake Wallenpaupack shoreline that has been preserved in its natural state! If you don't access from the trail you CAN always arrive by canoe, kayak or boat from Lake Wallenpuapack Its doable!
