Geocache Description:

Located on a headland on the NW tip of Scotland, about as far as you can go on the mainland without needing a boat.

The cache requires a 30 minute walk (if you don't drive along the beach) overlooking a deserted sandy bay of white sands and clear water. There are suitable tracks to follow which lead you over a dune field which is generally covered in short grass. These sit above steep cliffs (on the East side of the headland)and offer impressive views over the Sutherland coastline. Weather permitting, views at sunset are spectacular over the Kyle of Durness and Balnakiel Bay. If you are lucky (and interested) at dusk you may hear or see the rare Corncrake which can be found skulking on parts of the headland.

The cache is not hidden in a dangerous place though care should always be taken if you stray towards edges of the grassy dune covered cliffs. A fence at the cliff top is in the general vicinity of the cache to prevent any unwary wanderers from danger. Though it should be noted the cache is not near any cliff face.
