Consult the url above for a rough map of the trails or refer to a
recent version of nynjc map #109.
The cache is located directly off the RED-BLAZED ALPINE SCOUT
CAMP TRAIL which can be found a couple hundred feet from where the
red trail meets the yellow trail. Yes, there are two red-blazed
trails. This particular trail is clearly marked so you shouldn't
have much of a problem finding it.
As blazes can be infrequent in general, it may be important to
note that you will not have to bushwack off of any path until the
last 30 feet or so. Also, it appears that the trails are not
regularly maintained (as noted on the website) so trails may be a
bit rough depending on your route. I took the red path most of the
way without any problems.
Mountain bikes are allowed but be warned, much of the way to the
cache is uphill. You'll also need to cross a small stream that
could become a rushing brook after heavy rains. Bring your dog,
too; he'll want in on the action, I'm sure. Or, bring your horse,
if that's your thing.
Parking is available behind Rockleigh Municipal Hall on
Rockleigh Road. The container is an ammo can. Good luck!
Oh, and the name is based on me, decked out in my Eli Manning
jersey, placing this cache just before the Giants-Seahawks
game.
