Geocache Description:

A cache placed for a very special geocacher, GadgetCHC, to find for her 10,000th find milestone.

I've had the honor and privilege of knowing and caching with GadgetCHC for quite some time now. Gadget is one of the classiest people I have ever had the chance to meet. She always has time to help out a fellow cacher and is one of the driving forces behind Team Poachers. Gadget is also one of the best people anyone could meet, and I'm deeply honored to be able to call her my friend.

As she started coming closer to her 10,000th find, I started looking for a spot to place a cache for her milestone.
Knowing her love of Letchworth State Park and of hiking, I knew it had to be in the park, and a nice hike. Last year at the Letchworth Fall Gathering, I found a temporary cache near this location which I thought would be a great spot for a special cache.
So, here you are Gadget, one cache in a special place, for a very special cacher, and here's to your next 10,000 finds!

Now, about the cache.
The cache is a 30 cal ammo can hidden in the Kissel Point area of Letchworth State Park. There is an old shelter near the cache that was built by the C.C.C. (Civilian Conservation Corps) around the same time that many of the other buildings and bridges in the park were built. You will have a great view of the gorge and the "Hogs Back" from the cache area.
The listed parking coordinates are for the Hogs Back overlook parking area, follow trail 19 (yellow blazes) from there to the trail intersection coordinates I have given you. (N 42° 42.976 W 077° 55.377) There is NO need to bushwhack, and it would pretty much be impossible to go in a straight line from the parking area to the cache.

There are a few spots where the trail is VERY CLOSE to the edge of a cliff or steep drop off so cachers with children or dogs should keep them close,, hence the dangerous area and cliff attributes. I'd also strongly suggest not going for this cache during the winter for the same reason.
Total round trip is in the 1.25 mile range, mostly on very well defined paths with a few steep sections.
Cache placed with
Letchworth State Park approval.
