Als je Antwerpen en zijn bewoners beter wil leren kennen moet je op café gaan. En zeg nu zelf, kan je thuis een betere smoes vertellen dan dat je op kroegentocht moet gaan om een cache te vinden?
Zoals uit de opdrachten zal blijken is het wel de bedoeling dat je elke locatie bezoekt en er ook iets verbruikt... Sinjoren en pagadders met enige terreinkennis zijn in het voordeel en moeten de boeren maar op sleeptouw nemen. (nvdr: Nen boer is iedereen die geboren en getogen is buiten het stadscentrum. Ik ben er zelf ook ene, als dat een troost mag wezen.)
Rekening houdend met de sluitingstijden is het niet mogelijk gans het parcours af te leggen op maandag of voor 12u. 's middags. WP4 sluit zondags om 20u.
WP1: 51° 13.300 - 4° 23.972
We starten op de Grote Markt. Dit etablissement een kroeg noemen is een understatement. Het is een instituut waar een bolleke drinken een hemelse ervaring is. Fonske was hier vaste stamgast, maar is op 15/01/2007 overleden.
Hoe oud is Fonske geworden? 99 (A=2), 100 (A=3) of 101 (A=4).

Algemeen wordt aangenomen dat dit café, genoemd naar een Vlaams schilder, het oudste van Antwerpen zou zijn. Stamkroeg van Elschot, Van Ostaijen, Vandeloo om er maar enkele te noemen.

In de jaren zestig hing Fred Bervoets hier aan de luster te zwieren, met zijn hoofd naar beneden wel te verstaan. De dolle jaren zijn voorbij en het krot van weleer is gesaneerd. Maar daarmee heeft het voor nostalgici (lees overjaarse hippies) ook van zijn authenticiteit verloren.
Verminder het huisnummer van dit inspirerend muziekcafé met het aantal lusters dat boven de toog (gelijkvloers) hangt(=F).
