Tornado Tracks #1 Traditional Cache

Tornado Tracks  #1 is the first of a series of caches that will be planted along the paths of historic tornadoes in the Front Range area.  Given my career in the science of researching severe weather, I had the idea of sharing some weather history, along with creating an awareness for the awesome power that nature has, and how much a weather event can change a landscape in mere seconds.  I hope you enjoy the little history lessons!

On Wednesday, June 24, 2015 -- a tornado touched down at approximately 4:48pm near the intersection of 6th Ave & S. Quebec (due west of here).  This EF-1 rated tornado then tore east-northeastward thru this neighborhood, causing millions in roof and tree damage with its estimated 86-90 MPH winds.

You can still see the damage to the signs, near the cache.  Notice how they are bent in different directions, caused by the circulation of the tornadic winds.  If you look at the homes near this intersection, you will also notice large chunks of tree branches missing -- again, from this tornado.

The cache is planted directly in the path of where this tornado went through the neighborhood.  You will be looking for a small bison tube.
