Geocache Description:

Actually, the Lookout is nothing to Look At (the Forest Service stopped maintaining it years ago) but the views are fabulous. We park at N 39° 47.800 W 120° 52.782 and hike in, but if you have 4WD you'll be able to get much closer. Elevation gain from our parking coordinates is around 1000', much less if you park closer.

You are looking for a standard sized ammo can, painted to fit the surroundings. There is a "special bonus prize" for the First to Find (we like to support the local establishments ). Hike is best done from July-October (after the snows have melted) and in fact, the access road - LaPorte Quincy Road - is generally closed in winter. Watch small children particularly on the steep slopes and around the glass at the top near the lookout. Difficulty will be based on how close you can park to the cache. Assigned rating is based on hiking from posted parking coordinates.
