Parish Walk Series (No. 15 : Maughold) Traditional Cache

This cache is part of a a series of 17 caches; inspired by the Parish Walk, … one of the oldest events in the Isle of Man’s sporting calendar. Please see GC1JTEQ for more information about the series.

This cache is for the 15th in the series and can be found near the parish church of Maughold. The village of Maughold lies on the coast some three miles from Ramsey, with mountainous terrain on its landward side. The parish includes most of the North Barrule, the second highest hill on the island.

A proportion of the land in the area has been in Manx National Heritage ownership since 1965. Maughold church contains a number of historically important Celtic crosses. Maughold Head to the east of the village is the easternmost point on the island and has a lighthouse.

Parking is available right at the cache location. Please replace the cache exactly as found, and as usual, WATCH OUT FOR MUGGLES!
