This multi-stage geocache utilizes the Saddle River County Park
system, Bergen County, NJ beginning at Dunkerhook (Paramus) and
terminating near Route 4.
Park in any of the Dunkerhook (Paramus) parking areas.
This multi-stage geocache is accessible using the paved
walking/biking trail, running parallel along the Saddle River
starting at Dunkerhook (Paramus). This multi-stage geocache is
centered around the very popular Saddle River paved path. A perfect
way to spend an afternoon with family either bicycle riding or
walking. This trail is especially easy for the little one's. You
may decide to bike this, I did. But anything less than an ATB won't
get you past the paved walk. The limit of THIS multi-stage is Route
4. From here, you are on your own. Naming this cache was quite easy
since my favorite animated character has got to be "Scrat", the
very spirited, squirrel/rat from the animated movie "Ice Age". When
I placed every stage to these geocaches (Scrat's Stash I & II)
I definately felt like the high-strung, furry character "Scrat"
hoarding his acorn stash.
Watch out for River Trolls! There are many abound seeking my
hoard! Be very descreet since these stages are all in plain view!
The final stage is well hidden from prying eyes of the River
Trolls.
First stage begins nearby the Dunkerhook Park footbridge. Two of
the multi-stage caches are Lock&Lock containers and one is a
'Decon' box. Within these 'boxes' are coordinates to the next
stage. The geocache container at the final stage is a painted .30
cal ammo box w/geocaching markings full with nice swag. Please take
care and return ALL geocache containers to their EXACT "original
placement". Their concealment is vital so that other cachers may
enjoy the hunt as much as you have.
In fairness to others, please don't post spoilers, tracks,
subtle text or pictures that are hints in your logs. Have fun and
Enjoy!
