Geocache Description:

Area open from 4am-10pm. Located on the Firetower at Taum Sauk Mountain. Please exercise extreme caution in searching for this cache. I will not be held liable for any injuries or deaths as a result of searching for this cache. A fall from over 35 feet is enough to kill a human and the tower is 72 feet tall. Do not attempt this cache if you're afraid of heights. Placed with permission of Missouri Dept of Conservation.

This location is one of my favorites in the World. From the cache you can see for many miles in every direction. Bring your binoculars and take in the view. I usually visit this location twice a year and love taking in the sights in all seasons. It is NOT on the platform with the locked hatch. You DO NOT need a key to a master lock to find this. Once again, under NO CIRCUMSTANCES am I MAKING you search for this cache. If at any time you don't feel comfortable this high up, stairs with a guardrail will take you back to solid ground. Be safe and happy caching, hope everyone enjoys this one! Page 56 of your DeLORME Missouri Atlas & Gazetteer will show what geological features are visable from here. In case you don't own one, heres a few you can see. North: Buck Mountain, Iron Mountain, Pruitt Mountain, Logan Mountain, Buford Mountain, Brown Mountain, Bald Knob, Johnson Mountain South: Hogan Mountain, Ketcherside Mountain, Des Arc Mountain East: Vail Mountain, College Hill, Crane Mountain, Grassy Mountain, Blue Mountain, Marlow Mountain, Tin Mine Mountain, Hawkins Knob, Evans Mountain, Mt Devon, Black Mountain West: Upper Taum Sauk Resivoir, Proffit Mountain, High Top Mountain, Goggins Mountain, Bell Mountain, Lee Mountain, Church Mountain, and Johnson Shut-Ins State Park.
