From US 21 travel Traphill Rd to Longbottom Rd, Turning right and travel 7.9 Mi. to Parking area of Basin Creek, Doughton Park. Hike begins here.
Hike along the Basin creek on the Grassy Gap Fire Rd. for .85 Mi. after crossing a creek hike 50' then turn right into the woods for 30' then turn left and hike up the Ridge Crest following the old roadbed. You will pass by a waterfalls and cross the creek again. The trail will level out and cross the creek entering Hanging Valley.
The cache is a glass jar w/ a metal lid containing: log book, desert storm badge, brass horse, pencil, marbles, clothes pen, seashell, US flag patch, pencil sharpener, shoe horn, Kennedy half dollar.
