Geocache Description:

This is number 3 of the hydrology series that shows how water flows from the West TN area and ends up into the Mississippi River. The terrain here is rough so only the adventurous should attempt it.

This is cache 3 of the hydrology series. This cache is located on the South Fork of the Obion River. As water flows from Hydrology 1 it enters carroll Lake to at the point of Hydrology 2. As water leaves Carroll Lake it is taken by Clear Creek to join the South Fork of the Obion River and empties into it North East of here. Hydrology 3 takes the water from this point forward to the Middle Fork of the Obion River which will be home of Hydrology 4. As the water progresses it joins with all the forks of the Obion River, the Rutherford Fork, and the North Fork. There are 4 forks in all. When they all converge ENE of Obion TN the river opens up to about 60 yards wide. The water then flows from there into the Mississippi River just North of the Grainery on the Mississippi River. From that point the water is ushered into the Gulf of Mexico. So in theory you could launch a canoe or kayak from Any of these Hydrology series points and make your way to England though I bet it would be a long journey. I hope you gather some useful knowledge from this series and remember that be it rain or the dumping of used oil into the river it affects everyone down stream.
