Geocache Description:

This cache (originally named Rusty Da Dog) was adopted by cddulaney in honor of the geocacher who placed it in 2002. It was then renamed after Rusty's ghost who will forever walk the trails, and the cache remains in the same spot along the Tollantusky Trail. After moving from the area, cddulaney graciously allowed bruderman to adopt the cache, and he fondly recalls the days long ago when he and his young son walked these same trails with Old Smiley, their aging cocker spaniel. Many memories of those pleasant outings linger here as well. As does Rusty, Old Smiley also has cache dedicated to her memory: https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC919C6. Perhaps they are together at the Rainbow Bridge enjoy seeing who comes to visit their caches!

----------

The cache is located in historic Cadron Settlement Park near one of the mountain bike trails, and the area has many rocks, roots and holes along the hills and valleys to GZ. You will be looking for a container about the size of a peanut butter jar hidden in a traditional way not far off the trail and has a canine 🐶 theme suitable for Rusty. It shouldn't be too hard to find. There are some doggy-related trade items in case visitors have something similar to swap. And I know that Rusty would like to read short memories that visitors have of their own special furry friends, so feel free to add such to your log!

Note that the park gates are locked at dark, so get out well before then to avoid being trapped.

Remember that this is Arkansas, and dangerous critters and plants of all sorts can be present at certain times of the year. So BE CAREFUL! Put the container back just as you found it so it will be fun for others. And should you see any trash, take a moment to practice CITO.

If there are any problems with the cache, please let me know.
