Cammo'd tea tin wrapped in a baggie.
Wildwood Park not so wild anymore? Big Sycamore Canyon too overrun
w/lycra, spandex and camelbacks? Can't lose the view of the luxury
boxes around Lang Ranch?
Then come to this beautiful wild place; no cars, no bikes (it's
a state park wilderness), no dogs, no signs and (hardly any)
people. Just beautiful wild scenery, incredible views, and you and
your thoughts. It's almost 1,000' vertical climb & 10mi RT from
any trailhead but there are other caches nearby (I hid it after
finding nearby Dino Egg). Thanks to B'Eagle and fellow volunteers
for spiffing up this trail recently.

June 28 by paleolith (433 found) Took quite a hike from Salute to the Old Guy over here. Great trails of course. I had been past here a few times before but hadn't thought about just what an antidote this spot is -- great views but none of them reach syphilisation. After a few hours in shorts, I covered my legs again to protect my socks from the omnipresent foxtails. Looked right where the cache is hidden, didn't see it, looked around, came back and looked more carefully.I had found the closest caches in both directions some time ago, but on occasions when I didn't want to detour all the way to here. Couple of times on trail maintenance and once when I popped over from Serrano Valley to get the junction cache. The baggie around the tin is shredded of course, but I left it, since it's protecting the tin from being scratched by the rocks and isn't doing any harm. The sun was still above the horizon, so I headed up to Ocean View Micro. Haha. Edward

[view this log] | November 15, 2008 by OLdweeb (6420 found) There's a nice place to sit and remove foxtails. But then you'd get more on your way out. TFTC!!
[view this log] | November 15, 2008 by tozainamboku (5510 found) Found with the Sandstone to the Sea group. Of course one of finds today was Henry's Cache which claims to be the most remote on the Backbone Trail, This cache isn't quite as remote but it is still miles from civilization. We saw no other hikers today except going up to Sandstone peak and of course when we got back to Sycamore Canyon. Thanks Campyc for the hide.
