Astotin Theatre

Elk Island National Park, one of the best jewels of nature near Edmonton, is back into geocaching and we want to support the park and get the opportunity to join them during a fun family day event they are hosting.

The event includes many family-oriented out-door events including geocaching. Local cachers will be present at the event to share the enjoyment of geocaching with visitors through demonstrations of GPS, presentations on the great sport of geocaching, a few practical demos of finding hidden treasures in the woods and the opportunity to seek out Elk Island's new geocaches.

Coinciding with Elk Island's event, we are holding a special geocaching event to invite area cachers to join up, renew old acquaintances and help share a great game.

There will be a log book for attendees to sign but it is hoped that cachers will also be willing to help out for a few hours during the day with the presentations or some short guided tours or even longer ones to the brand new caches.

Elk Island is hosting lunch and some other fun activities.

Stay tuned for further discussion and a listing of the various small to big volunteer help we are looking for. Please add a note if you are planning to attend and if you are willing to help out so we can keep track of numbers and welcome caching back into Elk Island national Park in a big way.
