Geocache Description:

A simple cache close to a Canberra landmark.

From millions of kilometres away, robotic explorers send information on a tiny microwave signal to scientists on Earth. But how do you detect a signal billions of times weaker than the power you use to light up your fridge? Answer: you need really big ears.

This site is one of only three around the world - well the Europeans and Russians have their own. But it is remarkable to think that one of these is in Australia, and close to the capital.

After finding the cache, take an hour or more to admire the visitor's centre and the cafe. Tell them the 'Spindoctor' sent you - I was the Public Relations Manager from 1995-2000.
