Santa Monica Pier Webcam

While not on the pier, this webcam is aimed at the well-known entrance gateway to the pier.

To log this cache, go to the coordinates, phone a friend, have them go to the webcam at http://www.westland.net/piercam/non-java-piercam.html and have them save a picture of you.  Then upload your photo in your log. Since the webcam cannot zoom, please stand with your right arm straight out to your side so we can identify who you are. If the webcam isn't working, and you have a camera, take and post a photo of you with the Pier Sign in the background.

There are other nearby caches ( Where's Papa Smurrf? (GCTD4A)  Don't Get Sucked In !!, Lord of the Rings and Fallen Heroes).  Free parking is available 1 block east in the Santa Monica Place parking structure.

We had our friend Seth take screen shots for us. It was a challenge - tons of muggles crossing the street in front of us, city buses driving by every minute. This being Santa Monica too, there was a man on the grass behind us, naked except for a loincloth, standing on a pedestal, and holding 3 live snakes. And that's the truth! Thanks for the webcam cache in a fun place. (1097)

That's us with our arms up waving at the camera!

Taken with my camera phone, but approved by GeoCraig. Early November and it's still nice at the beach.
If you have time, look for the artist who makes a little sculpture of your head and/or the artists who paint scences of the beach on glass.

Santa Monica Pier or Bust!

We hope this photo passes muster. We had our geocaching friend Blue Goose help us with this from Ohio. Blue Goose has 3400+ finds so we hope you trust the webcam photo they took. At any rate, the webcam was taking fuzzy pictures today. Thanks for our first webcam find! And Blue Goose doesn't have any!

The webcam was working, but I could not reach any of my lifelines to get the online picture. Instead, I took a picture at the arch that I will upload when I get back to Colorado. Thanks for a great webcam cache; it was a fantastic day to be on the pier!

My first webcam cache and I had a blast with it. It was very busy and it took a bit to get to a place where I was visible.
