As we drive around the country side, we often see these locations in or near each community. When we stop and walk around, we can see markers for generations of the same family that have stayed in the area, when a major epidemic hit the area and sadly, how often an infant or small child would have a very short life on this earth. From the markers we can tell that the early settlers had a rough time, losing young family members and living relatively short lives.
Even strangers to this location can learn something about most of the people here but there are still some whose stories remain untold because there is no marker to tell us who they were, when they lived or even where they are buried. We found this tribute to those forgotten people at this location and it reminded us of all the other cemeteries that we have visited where the same thing has happened. This cache is in recognition of all the untold stories of the people in unmarked graves
Through time, families move, friends pass on and memories fade.
