The Alamance County Parks and Recreation Dept. has given us their approval, to cache in their parks and other property. They are wanting to get involved in promoting geocaching and even place some new geocaches, help sponsor events, and put on some geocaching clinics.
I was given a tour of one of their rural parks where there are no caches in "YET" and was asked why we didn't have one at Pleasant Grove. My answer was because of the no trespassing signs. They replied that they were so used to seeing them there they didn't even notice them any more.
This park is in some need of CITO - Cache In, Trash Out, so I asked about allowing geocachers to perform a clean up on the park grounds and they gladly accepted.
Our first project of the day will be assisting them by take down the no trespassing signs.
We have all enjoyed caching at the Alamance County Parks and Recreation's Cedarock Park so lets show our appreciation to them by assisting them at Pleasant Grove.
There have been 5 new geocaches placed nearby.
