Geocache Description:

YOU are cordially invited to join a gathering in the forest.

The picnic will be in the notorious ‘Forest of Peril’ where brave adventurers are welcome to undertake ‘the challenge’, if they have the nerve…and a Wherigo enabled GPS device! If YOU have, then this could be the perfect time for YOU to try out a Wherigo Geocache. TheHarvesters will be on hand for advice and guidance and one or two of the League of Worthy Adventurers will be around to warn YOU of perils along the way!

There are also a number of traditional caches in and around the Manor Farm Park, and we hope to have a couple more published in time for the meet.

Alternatively, just come for the picnic and the company! We’d love to see you there.

The area is more commonly known as Manor Farm Country Park, Pylands Lane, Bursledon Near Southampton SO31 1BH and our picnic will be held between 11am and 3pm in the clearing of Barnfield (the posted co-ordinates). There is a kiosk nearby which is open on most summer Sundays selling ice creams and soft drinks and the toilets are adjacent.

There are numerous car parks close by inside the park, but please note there is a PARKING CHARGE OF £2 FOR THE DAY

There is a children's play area at Barnfield and we also hope to provide a couple of large garden games for your entertainment and enjoyment.

The park has ‘a working farm of a bygone age’ for which there is a charge, but if you visit there you can claim back your parking charges with proof of payment.

The other peril is of course the weather! So, with the kind permission of the park rangers we will be providing 2 or 3 gazebos for shelter in the unlikely event of a little rain; or with a bit of luck, some shade from the sunshine. Just look out for the Geo Logo at the posted co-ordinates.

We look forward to seeing you! Please bring your own food, wine, beer, picnic rugs, chairs, children and so on…
