Geocache Description:

Summer: a long walk each way (~11km) through heather. Winter: a long walk over snow-covered heather; be prepared!

The cache is at the degree confluence point 57N 4W (more info here). During summer, this should present a fairly decent walk in the country. During winter, the ground is likely to be covered in snow, adding to the challenge of finding it considerably!!! Access to the point is easiest via the private round to the north, which is a 7km walk, followed by a 4km steep hill climb and then downhill into the bowl where the confluence is. The walk along the double-dotted 'forestry track' took forever to make much progress. Our route map is here. The ground is heather-covered (or snow) and you will need a GPS device to accurately locate the box. We left a small, clear box (image here) pegged to the ground. Inside is the logbook & pencil, plus a disposable camera. Please take your photo and return the camera to the protective bag(s). More pictures of our trek are here.
