How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

Come One, Come All to the Winter Holiday Potluck Party! All geocachers are welcome: WSGA members and non-members, from the Puget Sound and coordinates beyond. This is a family event, so feel free to bring children, spouses, partners, and friends.

When: Saturday, December 27, 6:30 – 9:30pm

Where: Issaquah Community Hall, 180 E Sunset Way (meeting room connected to the fire station)

Parking Coordinates: N 47° 31.838' W 122° 02.083' or N 47° 31.774' W 122° 02.076' Both lots require about a block of walking. There is also a limited amount of street parking available. Please note: the lot that wraps around the fire station is for fire and police only.

Evening Events:

  • Potluck: bring a food item to share. Plates and plasticware will be provided. There will be a few beverages, but feel free to bring more. No alcohol, please.

  • Back by Popular Demand, the White Elephant Exchange! Bring a gift ($10 or less) to exchange. Click here for all the exciting details.

  • Bandana Quilt Raffle: bring a blanket or coat for donation to a local shelter, and you’ll receive a raffle ticket for one of Pepper’s fabulous Bandana Quilts. Each square is signed by a local geocacher. You can read more on the Bandana Backpack cache page.

  • Travel Bug Launch and Exchange: bring new travel bugs or more experienced ones that are looking to be exchanged. We'll have fun handing them off and sending them on their way.

  • Night-time Caching: there are nearby caches (including at least one ultra-evil hide) to be found!

  • If you have a suggestion for something fun and family-oriented, send it via e-mail to CachinCin.
