Geocache Description:

Pay it Forward is an action plan first presented in 2000 within a work of fiction. Since its release, a real-life social movement has emerged throughout the world. What began as a work of fiction has already become much more.

Reuben St. Clair, the teacher in the book “Pay It Forward,” starts a movement with a voluntary, extra-credit assignment to think of an idea for world change and put it into action. Trevor, the 12-year-old hero, thinks of an idea and describes it, "I do something real good for three people. And then when they ask how they can pay it back, I say they have to Pay It Forward. To three more people. Each.” It is definitely an expansive idea.

In December I was honored to be given a “Pay it Forward” coin by a group of area cachers. At the same time they surprised me with gifts of cache containers, additional coins, and cache supplies. I was thanked for doing something I enjoy immensely. It’s a bit like being thanked for eating chocolate.

This cache container is one of those I received. It is a Lock & Lock container with Tigger painted on it. Tigger is a perfect representative for this cache. He was able to pay it forward even when others were trying to be unkind to him. I don’t think he was capable of anything other than good.

There is a copy of my Pay it Forward coin in this cache. I will bring the actual coin to events if any of you would like to see it.

Paying it forward is not always easy. I tried to pay it forward by volunteering in Mississippi. I was given far more than I gave. I met loving, interesting people and they kept thanking me by cooking and bringing food such as pralines and fresh shrimp for me to eat. So I placed a few caches for a community where caches are still scarce after Hurricane Katrina’s devastation. Now I get logs thanking me for the caches. The pressure’s on!

How can you pay it forward in the caching world?
1. the first (easy) thing that you can do is to leave only new items of equal or greater value in the cache when trading so that future finders have as nice a selection as you did.
2. you can place a cache that enriches the experience of other cachers.
3. you can practice Cache In/Trash Out.

I promise to pay it forward by placing three more caches in February. Hopefully each one will bring a smile to your face.

Additional Hints (Decrypt)

[- take a right at the fork just after you start. - as you approach the coordinates, you may go just past it to get the best access. - coordinates bounce a lot in here. - look for an ivy covered log between a huge tree and a snag. - cache is about 6' from where there is a crossing over the ivy covered log in a crevice.
