Geocache Description:

CONGRATULATIONS goes out to: BJD15, for the FTF of this cache..

Cache is a short way off the trail and into a ditch. Probably NOT for kids and/or Wheel chairs, though they could wait on the trail itself.. While another retrieves it..

ALSO, might watch for poison ivy, etc. I didn't see any, but it grows pretty fast In Iowa.

A BIG THANKS goes out to Welch for furnishing this cache container for a door prize at the Duck, Duck, Geocaching Event, Duck...Goose! THANKS Nathan..

Here is one in a series of caches to raise awareness for the Old Creamery Nature Trail. There will be more to come in the future. Please keep in mind that this trail is still in the development stages and the west segment from Garrison to Dysart requires more bicycle diligence, BUT it is an excellent place in nature and a great opportunity for Geocaching.

Geocaching has been welcomed by the people in charge of the trail development. Please use caution and obey the rules for the trail. For more INFO. about The Old Creamery Nature Trail; See: (visit link)

Also, from Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation: The Old Creamery Trail got its name because it passes by the former Old Creamery Theater Company building in Garrison. The trail goes from Vinton in Benton County, through Garrison, and reaches Dysart in Tama County. The former railroad right-of-way is owned by the Iowa Trails Council. It is managed by one of the chapters of the Council, formed for that purpose.

The Old Creamery Nature Trail is "in Work" but is nice enough to ride mountain bikes, walk, etc., as it has gravel on all of the trail.

PLUS, have the pleasure of finding a few caches, along the way.. ENJOY!!!

Just for a start, there are about 23 total caches along the Old Creamery Nature Trail (OCNT), between the Parking area and Garrison.. (Approximately 6 Miles)..

There are also approximately 25 Caches on the OCNT between Garrison, IA. and Dysart, IA. (Approximately 9 miles)....

BCNU down the road, and "Keep On, Cachin' On"...
