How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

The coordinates are not to the Cache! The coordinates bring you near a sign – find the fine for improper skin diving. Remember this #. From that sign head north towards the road and look for a speed limit sign to the right, fifty yards or so down the road. Take this # (the speed limit) and subtract it from the dollar amount. The result is the number of feet you need to travel from the first sign on a heading of 080 degrees to reach the cache.

*CAUTION* cache may contain sharp fishing hooks - use care when removing contents. The idea of this cache is to be a fishing lure exchange, and what better lake to try out your new lure then on Bass Lake. If you take a lure, please leave another one, preferablly one you have had good success with (assuming you have another one to keep for yourself!). Please don't leave plain hooks, bobbers, wieghts or other terminal tackle. Also, don't leave plastic worms or related things that have a scent to them or might deteriorate in the heat of a confined container. If you have a picture of a fish you caught on that lure or a story about it, please post once you find the cache.

The first lure I have placed in the cache is a #6 Vibrax spinner that has worked extremely well for large Northern, particularily in Canada (see picture below). The cache also starts with several handwarmers, a keychain/bottle opener thing, some shells from the beaches of Cancun, as well as a Jeep travel bug.
