De 'Stammenhof' is een typische Limburgse boerderij in een
gesloten U-vorm, herbouwd in 1696. De naam Sweikhuizen is
waarschijnlijk afkomstig van het woord Zweihuizen oftewel twee
huizen. Het is de aanduiding van een bebouwing welke is gelegen
tussen twee huizen. Algemeen wordt aangenomen dat de Stammenhof het
boven- en de Biessenhof (gelegen op Geleens grondgebied) het
benedenhuis was. De 'Biessenhof' zie je links liggen tijdens het
laatste stuk van de
'Driepoelcache'. Behalve bij de cache hoef (en mag) je nergens
van de paden af. De route is zo'n 4 kilometer lang
The 'Stammenhof' is a typical 'Limburgse'
farm, build in a close U-shape and rebuild in 1696. The name
Sweikhuizen (the village were you parked your car), origins most
likely from the word 'Zweihuizen', dialect for two houses. In this
case the buildings between the two houses are meant. It is commonly
accepted that the upper house is the 'Stammenhof' and the lower
house is the 'Biessenhof'. The Biessenhof can be seen during the
last part of the
'Driepoelcache'. Except at the cache location it is nowhere
necessary/allowed to leave the paths. The length of this cache is
about 4 km.
