A 35mm film canister placed alongside the Trent and Mersey canal near to the former site of Shelton Bar steel works
We put this cache out here as our son Jamie came a cropper here on the cobbles and ended up smashing his mobile phone in the process. Hence the name of the cache is taken from a sign next to the bridge, Jamie now takes notice of any signs advising you to dismount.
All this area was once the site of Shelton Bar steel works that like most industry in the area has now gone. The area over the canal by the ski centre was the site of the garden festival that was used to regenerate the site after the first phase on the steel works shut. This is now a retail park and offices. The other side of the cut is also now being regenerated to supply industrial units and offices. Parking can be found at Water World or you may be able to park in the Doulton outlet centre near to the path down to the towpath.
