Uranus Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

chaosmanor: It is finally time to begin the long process of archiving the ten, older planet caches that BLIG set up some fifteen years ago, and doing everything needed to set ten new ones. This process will take several weeks: A) not all of the caches have been placed, yet and B) we are hoping to spread the FTF love around a little.

The Final cache of the series will NOT be replaced. It has been moved, and it will be re-activated when more/all of the new planets have been submitted. As before, a clue to the Solar System Tour is in each of the ten new caches.

For those who did work on the Solar System, but did not finish it, all of your old work is of no use, now: sorry about that [:(] On the plus side, however, you will have ten new caches to go after [:)] Those who did complete the Solar System Tour will be able to ignore the clue in each cache, but you are encouraged to Find all the new caches.

Geocache Description:

We adopted these from BLIG some time back. The Descriptions remain much as he wrote them, with some minor edits and updated information. D/T ratings have not changed, to be fair to earlier Finders, although some of these are much easier than they were. On the logsheet is a number, which is needed to find the Solar System Tour mystery cache.

Uranus

Uranus is the ancient Greek deity of the Heavens, the earliest supreme god. Uranus was the son and mate of Gaia the father of Cronus (Saturn) and of the Cyclopes and Titans.

Orbit:    2,870,990,000 km (19.218 AU) from Sun
Diameter: 51,118 km
Mass:     8.683e25 kg

Uranus is the seventh planet from the Sun and the third largest (by diameter), Uranus has 21 named moons and six unnamed ones. The larger are Setebos, Prospero, Sycorax, Trinculo and recently discovered 2002U2, 2001U3 and 2003U3. And just for the record, the correct way to pronounce this is to put the stress on the first syllable: Yer'-un-us.

You are looking for a camo-painted CITO container. As always, use caution when reaching in bushes and under rocks.
