The Fiber Channel Mystery Cache

One of the first things I learned after hiding my first cache was that I'm an old fart. Okay, so no one actually came right out and said it, but the implications were clear. I hadn't really thought about it much, but now I'm starting to think that maybe it's true. I mean, c'mon, I never used to worry about what I ate, or how much. I didn't care about how much fiber was in my diet, and I certainly never would have been caught watching a cooking channel, of all things.

So they were talking about cereals and grains, fruits and vegetables, dairy products, meats, and some of my favorites -- sugars and fats -- and while I'm thinking that there is no way I'm going to be able to eat all the servings they say I need each day, something really weird happened.

Now I may be getting old, but I'm not completely clueless about at least a little bit of the new technology being used these days. For example, I could tell when they started digitizing video data. It was when sometimes the data streams got so screwed up that error correction wasn't powerful enough to help, and the picture would start dissolving into all those little blocks that would skitter off the screen. Alas, I finally realized that technology moves faster than I do the first time I saw something like this:

Well I hurried up and turned the television off, and now I'm afraid to turn it back on again. I figured I'd go hide a cache or something instead, but I'll be darned if I remember what I did with that silly thing. I guess I really am an old fart after all. And not even watching the Fiber Channel will help that. Dude.
