It is surprising how many geocachers found their way upstairs to the basement. It must take a special kind of geo-logic to do so. Therefore, we'll keep this up every first Saturday of every month henceforth and forevermore.
There is one steep and narrow flight of stairs to climb, thus the terrain rating of 2.0
Ashland was known as Saline Ford in the 1840s and 50s. This was the only natural rock-bottom ford of Salt Creek between the future capital of Nebraska and the Platte River. It was used by the military and settlers moving west who preferred the Oxbow Trail along the south side of the Great Platte River Road.
Many thanks to McGator, Lady Bug of Plattsmouth, and Twinstars for organizing this event for many years!!! Huzzah Huzzah Huzzah
