An easy ghost-town find that's hard to get to!
Blodgett was an old rail town that faded away in the 1930's. It got it's name from a train wreck that scattered railcars full of live cattle all around the area. The cattle died before the cars could be righted, resulting in a stinky, bloody mess, thus it became known as "Blood and Guts" and later shortened to "Blodgett". Don't even think about driving to this cache without a vehicle with good ground clearance. Easiest (but less fun) way to approach the cache is from the north. South road is a challenge for a Jeep. Cache is an ammo can full of goodies. No need to cross any fences, but you might be tempted to cut the wire and drive across. There is an old stone house just to the NW of the cache. Be sure to log the unlikely benchmark nearby.
