Geocache Description:


The cache "Romantic garden" is located north of the River Seine in the 12th arrondissement. You will enjoy magnificient views of Paris and the river when looking for the cache as well as find a peaceful pocket of green in this busy metropole.

The cache is a short multicache with 4 stages (which are all within easy walking distance, plus a final stage with the hidden cachecontainer. Overall walking time is approximately 20 minutes.
 
The container found at the last stage is a large round coffee tin. Plenty of room for Travelbugs/Geocoins. There are not too many spots in the centre of Paris to swap travelbugs easily – so here you go !

Parts of this multi-cache are situated in a public park. Please note the following opening hours:

A good starting point (if you are using public transport) is the Metro-stop “Bibliothèque Francois Mitterand” (RER C + Line 14) or “Quai de la Gare” (Line 6).

E 002 22.680		 La passerelle “Simone de Beauvoir”

Paris' 37th bridge, the Simone de Beauvoir footbridge is a metal structure with oak flooring, and is meant to be both light and transparent. Thanks to cutting-edge construction technology, it passes over the Seine with no supports in the middle. On either bank of the river Seine, it connects the Bibliothèque Nationale de France Esplanade with Bercy Park. Pedestrians, bicyclers and rollerbladers may use it. The 304-meter-long steel structure intertwines two arches suspended in mid-air, and offers two different itineraries, connected by stairs.

 In the middle of the bridge you find several benches. Count them and multiply them by 3 to get AA

Sit down on one of the benches and enjoy the beautiful view. Look around and you will find a swimmingpool, that is literally swimming on the river. On the outside of this pool, you find written, under the words “La Piscine” (French for swimming pool), several numbers in the format:

E 002 23.055		 With a surface area of 139 747m², Bercy Park was, in the 12th century a seigniory, then later on, the property of a rich family before the domain was cut in two by the fortifications of Thiers in 1845 and dismantled. The area was then converted into a huge wine depot : linked by the Seine where wine casks were unloaded from Burgundy. Bercy is just beyond the city toll, the ideal position for a thriving commercial trade. Disused in the 1970s, the wine store houses were abandoned for some years before the whole area was replanned. The park opened in 1994. It comprises of three distinct parts : THE LARGE MEADOW, THE PLANT and the ROMANTIC GARDEN. The eastern part of the park is reached by footbridges. Also, the belvedere, the hillock and the valley where the Philosopher's Garden surrounds a lake and its island. Here stands the "House of the Lake" which holds exhibitions on gardens and nature in Paris. You will find yourself in a small forest of silver birch trees. Count all of the birch trees north of the path and multiply them with the number of trees south of the path. Add 400 to the result and you get CCC.

E 002 23.154		 La colline Standing on this hills viewing platform you can see quite a bit of the park from a different perspective. If you look closely, you will see yourself being surrounded by several young trees, that are supported by wooden beams. Count these trees and add them to DD in order to get EE.

La cache "Romantic Garden" (Jardin romantique) ce trouve au nord de la Seine dans le 12eme arrondissement. En cherchant vous aurez des vues magnifiques de Paris et de la Seine ainsi que vous allez trouvez un parc bien gardé avec plein des arbres, des petits lacs, des fleurs et  meme des vignes…

La Cache est une multicache avec 4 stations, qui se font assez rapidement. Comptez environ 20 minutes pour les distances entre les differents stations.

La cache est assez grand pour laisser des Travelbugs, et des Geocoins. La cache est une boite de caffee ronde.

Il n'y a pas tant de caches dans Paris ou on peut facilement échanger des Travelbugs/Travelcoins - ben, voilà une !

Trente-septième pont de Paris, quatrième passerelle consacrée aux circulations douces, la passerelle Simone de Beauvoir est située entre les ponts de Bercy et de Tolbiac. Elle donne un accès direct au parvis de la Bibliothèque nationale de France (B.N.F.) François Mitterrand en rive gauche et au parc de Bercy en rive droite, ainsi qu’aux quais François Mauriac et de Bercy.

 Au milieu du pont vous trouverez plusieurs banques. Comptez les et multipliez le nombre par 3. Le resultat vous donne AA.

Asseyez vous sur une banque et regardez les bateaux de la Seine. Vous allez trouver un bateau, qui est en fait une veritable piscine. A lexterieur vous trouverez quelques chiffres dans le format:

E 002 23.055		 Le Parc de Bercy est un ensemble de trois jardins situés dans le 12e arrondissement de Paris, entre le palais omnisports de Paris-Bercy (POPB) et le centre commercial et de restauration Bercy Village. Avec ses 14 hectares, le parc de Bercy est un des plus importants de la capitale.

 Le jardin le plus proche de Bercy-Village a été nommé le « Jardin romantique » et comprend des bassins où vivent des poissons, des reconstitutions de dunes. En entrant par Bercy-Village, sur votre gauche se trouve une sculpture nommée Demeure X, entourée de nénuphars. Juste en face se trouve la maison du lac, située au bord d'un lac.		 Vous vous trouverez dans un petit foret avec des bouleaux. Il faut compter les bouleaux qui se trouvent au nord du chemin et les multiplier avec le nombre des bouleaux qui se trouvent au sud du chemin. Additionez 400 au résultat, et vous aurez  CCC.
