Geocache Description:

This cache adds a twist on the typical geocache search. In this cache we'll use a simplified form of triangulation to locate the cache.

The coordinates given are not the actual cache location. This will get you to the general area. See image 'entrance' and you might recognize the location. You can either pay an entrance fee in either the public park or the tourist park and park your car close to cache location or park out on the road and walk the 10-15 minute hike from there.

Assumptions: Once you arrive at the area set gps to position format=UTM and heading=true. This supposedly makes this type of triangulation cache search more accurate. You should also have a magnetic compass.

Procedure for locating cache: You are given the UTM coordinates of 2 of the 3 points of the triangle (see below). You will have to manually enter these coordinates into your gps device. You are given the 3 lengths of the triangle. You could use basic trigonometry to determine 3rd point of the triangle. But math is not really required. Use your gps to get to 0.12 miles from and 197 degrees to 'flagpole' point of triangle. And get to 0.15 miles from and 155 degrees to 'semaphore' point of triangle. There is only one place where these 2 lines cross - and this is where the cache is. See image 'map' for representation of this layout.

If you want to find out more about this type of adventure check out this thread in groundspeak.

This cache is in a partially camouflaged (painted) rectangular tupperware. The cache was given 'difficulty' of 3 because it's an unconventional cache. Given 'terrain' of 1.5 because it's (mostly) flat.

original cache contents:
audio tape
all-star ultra yoyo
etch-a-sketch pen
hacky-sack
travel-bug (Howie Highlander)
shampoo
magnetic compass

'flagpole' point of triangle:(UTM)
10 S 0583159
4099915

'semaphore' point of triangle:(UTM)
10 S 0583317
4099875

Additional Hints (Decrypt)

[Be sure to use your magnetic compass. Point your compass to the north and align your gps to the north and watch the 'bearing' on your gps. Move from either of the known points of the triangle to where the gps readings match the given distances and compass bearings. Do this from both of the known points and it should get you to the cache.]
