Yes – my favorite things. In the year that I’ve been caching I have shared some of Brevard County’s cacher’s favorite things. Tree climbs, obscure codes, near-impossible computer-aided puzzles, nanos SO nano that they crossed my eyes, loooooong hikes in the muck – just to name a few. Well, in this cache I present a few of MY favorite things. Don’t get nervous, it won’t hurt – much. So, join me as I present “My Favorite Things” (this won’t be a “Park and Grab”)

1) Sudoku – Solve this puzzle (saved as an image below) to get the numerals to work the rest of the cache (these puzzles are one of my favorite things). Place the numerals 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 in each row, column and 3x3 cube so that each numeral is used only one time in each area.

2) Good!! You’re still with me. This was a medium-level puzzle. Some “hard” puzzles I sit and look at for days and days at a time. You don’t even want to see an “Evil” level sudoku.

Take a pencil/pen and, beginning with the lower-left-hand corner (outside of the grid), label each row with a capital letter beginning with “A” and working up through “I”. Now, beginning in the same corner (lower left) mark each column with a small letter beginning with “a” and working to the right continue through “i”. Note: “J-j” will equal 0.

Good job!! Now you’re all set – if you got the same answers to the puzzle that I did.

3) Go to the coordinates listed above. Find the window with 2 pineapples on it and make note of the street number. Use the street number to choose which set of coordinates to use (from those listed below) for the next leg of the cache. Do this 2 more times and you’re home free. This multi I will take you to 3 of my favorite places in the “Greater Melbourne” area. The last coordinate is for an ammo can at the final cache site.

4) Prize for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th finders are gift certificates to one of the three stages of the multi or a Silver Eagle $1.00 coin (another of my favorite things). First to come chooses their prize. Some trade items also are indicative of my favorite things. Please, bring a favorite item to trade and share your love of – whatever – with the rest of us. For TB fans there is a travel bug in the can and for the Geocoin crowd there is one of those included also.

5) There will be a Geo-camera in the can. Take your photo and log the number so that you can get proper billing when the photo credits are posted.

6) As per Geocaching rules – at no time during this cache are you required to patronize, enter or inquire about any private, for-profit enterprise or to layout any money. You are certainly free to enjoy my favorite things/places if you so choose.

NOTE: You may want to work this one into and between several other area caches. I've been catching hck over gas prices (like it's my fault gas is so pricy). Anyhow, this cache is a great afternoon event - interspersed with several other area caches. You've been warned - no more crying about gas prices!!
