Tupperware container concealed from casual view.
This medium size cache contains some more spooky/glow in the dark items with the log book and pencils. You don't have to maintain the theme, but if you can it would be good.
The mid 1800's. Pastoralists are opening up the grazing land around Pt. Lincoln, while a troop of mounted police has been sent from Adelaide to put down an Aboriginal uprising, largely generated by conflict between sheepherders and hunters from the local clans. Pt. Lincoln is almost abandoned, with the town locked down at night. Buildings from this era still display the walls with gun-slits built for defence.
In this atmosphere, love blossoms between the beautiful, and very young daughter of a Poonindie pastoralist and a handsome, but poor, trooper from Inspector Tolmer's troop. Once the girl's father discovers what he feels is a totally inappropriate relationship, he forbids them from seeing each other. As young lovers are wont to do, the two continue to meet in secret. Their trysting place is a beautiful pool on the Tod River near Poonindie, concealed by surrounding vegetation. One day, however, one of the pastoralist's shepherds spies the couple and tells the father. Furious, he has words with Tolmer, who reassigns the trooper far away. Broken hearted, and after angry words with her father, the girl goes once more to their meeting place, dressed in her finest clothes and new red leather shoes. Taking off her shoes, she places them in a nook on the bank, and drowns herself in the pool. Far too late, her father and some of the shepherds search for her, finding her body in the pool. They take the body home, but no one thinks to look for her shoes.
As settlement continues, a ford develops across the Tod near the lover's pool. Quite a few people report seeing a young girl sitting or standing by the ford. She is dressed in fine clothes but barefoot, and crying. Later a bridge is built, but still the young girl is seen, now standing on, or by, the bridge. As motor cars replace horses, the girl disappears, but a glowing light is sometimes reported nesr the bridge, as cars drive by. Finally, the story and the ghost are forgotten, or at best consigned to local legend; until one day in the 1990's, when excavations of the river bank reveal a weathered, but still idebtifiable, pair of what were once; beautiful, red, ladies shoes. Now the old story comes to light once more, although this is one ghost who seems to have finally found peace. Still, on a quiet moonlit night, if you drive slowly over the "new" bridge, you never know what you may have the good fortune to see.

I had the heads up from the frog for this. Coords now look better though I had researched this before I went there Even so I made hard work of it. The area had dried out a bit but there was still plenty of green snaky territory. Quite scary really. Great story Mr Walker.

Clear skies from TeamAstro.
