Message In A Bottle Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Cache-tech: I have been looking at caches in the area that have been temporarily disabled for a while now and it looks like your cache has been under the weather for some time. While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you and block other cachers from entering the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time I don’t think we can do so any longer. Therefore, I have archived this cache.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and am looking forward to seeing your cache up and running in the future. If you do not plan on replacing/repairing your cache, please CITO any remains returning the site to the original state before you placed your cache.

Thanks for your understanding,
Cache-tech

Geocache Description:

This cache will give you a walk along the Racquette Beach and the Cannon Banks.

The racquette, named for it's shape is a protected cove just north of town. It is the site of some of Digby's earliest wharves and shipbuilding activity.
In 1794, the Queen's Battery was built on the cannon banks, a piece of land at the north end of town later known as Robinson's point, Made up of a small blockhouse, ditch, drawbridge and outer parapet with five cannons, erosion had destroyed much of the original battery by 1856.
To open this cache, you need to lift the white lid and unscrew the blue one. Please put back as found.
