Torre di Bantine Sale
La torre, nota anche come torre di Porto Ferro, si trova sul lato sud della baia; fu costruita a protezione della spiaggia e, ormai ne resta solo il rudere danneggiato dall'azione della salsedine e degli agenti atmosferici.
La torre era in contatto ottico con la Torre Negra e la Torre Bianca poste a nord della stessa baia, e con la Torre del Pegna a sud.
Per il tipo di onde che si formano dopo forti mareggiate, la spiaggia è frequentata dai surfisti locali.
Nelle vicinanze è possibile visitare il Lago di Baratz, unico lago naturale della Sardegna.
Torri costiere della Sardegna
Ogni torre è uno scrigno di storia, di avvicendamenti, ma anche di riferimento territoriale e di magisteri costruttivi.
Le torri costiere hanno soprattutto funzione di avvistamento, quindi di difesa. Appartengono, pur costruite in un arco temporale di tempo, con forte concentrazione nel periodo di dominazione spagnola, al genio militare. Perciò hanno un carattere sobrio e austero, con tipologie assai ripetitive, considerata la destinazione e le mansioni dei torrieri, che le governavano.
I luoghi su cui sorgono si aprono su vasti spazi aperti, su panorami di grande respiro che, indirettamente, donano bellezza a queste costruzioni.

The tower, also known as "Torre di Porto Ferro" is located on the southside of the bay, It has been built as a protection of the beach and now you can just see only its remains, mostly damaged by the sea air and the atmospheric agents.
From the tower it was possible to see the "Negra Tower" and the "Bianca Tower" (literally 'black tower' and 'white tower') located on the northside of the same bay and with the "Torre Pegna" that is located on south.
Because of the special type of waves during sea storm, this areas is famous among local surfers. In the vicinity you can visit the "Baratz lake", that's the only natural lake in Sardinia.
Sardinia Coastal Towers
Every Tower is a treasure chest of history and a benchmark in the territory. Towers were built as observation tower to defend the area.
Completed over a wide period of time, mostly during the Spanish Dominance, coastal towers belong today to "Genio Militare". All towers look simple and severe, similarly shaped on the basis of destinantion and tasks assigned to their masters. Towers are always in strategical positions, they all have a broad visual over a wide landscape which indirectly give them beauty and appeal.
