A traditional cache located near Mykawa Rd, simple park &
grab.....Caching by bicycle
A little history: Mykawa road was named after a Japanese naval
officer who was traveling by train in 1890 with a delegation
through Texas. He noticed how the flat expanses would be suitable
for rice cultivation. He returned as a civilian and is credited
with introducing rice culture in this part of Texas. The railroad
today still has a siding marker "Myakwa", but the local school was
renamed Minnitex Civic Center still stands today.
Mr. Shinpei Mykawa was buried in Houston's Hollwood Cemetery on
North Main.
So much for the history lesson, cache in a large camo pill
bottle with log and pencil. Pirates were always after "pieces of
eight" but this first to find will have to settle for just
silver.
Have Fun!
