I love Utica Traditional Geocache
retreevers 4: We checked on the cache this weekend but the cache is gone and so were the rocks it was hidden under. [:(] We were going to just replace the cache but decided to wait and relocate further from the "unofficial" campsites. Watch for "I love Utica, too!" in the near future. Hopefully by October before the snow.

We love Utica Reservoir and we think you will too. Cache is about 0.1 mile from parking area in moderately rugged terrain. Forest Service restroom facilities are nearby, but no running water is available. The area is usually snow free from June through October.
Utica is a scenic reservoir at just under 7000’ elevation located off Spicer Reservoir Road. The setting is more rustic than either Spicer Meadow Reservoir or Lake Alpine. No developed recreation facilities exist at the lake; however, the area is popular for day use, dispersed camping and paddle sports such as canoeing and "sea" kayaking. Utica Reservoir is managed for non-motorized boating. Open June to October, but also accessible in winter by snowmobile and cross-country skis from the Sno Park lot just off Highway 4 on Spicer Reservoir Road. Union Reservoir, located immediately adjacent to Utica Reservoir, is known for good fishing.
