Two things I had to deal with the day I placed the cache: rangers and rattlesnakes...
Potentially, both could be bad experiences! In this case it wasn't.

On the way to a nearby cache I had to leap a smallish rattler. I asked him to move, he wouldn't. I stomped the ground, he still wouldn't move. I finally tooking a running jump and flew over him (going around wasn't an option).

The ranger found me going through the loot over at the "Off Road Fun" cache. I thought she might be concerned with my activities, but turns out there was an illegal alien on the loose, one of those "armed and dangerous" types. She did, however, scold me for venturing out here alone. Which brings me to two good points: don't come out alone and don't come out here at night. Weekends are good, this is a popular OHV area, so should be busy on the weekends. Watch for rattlesnakes.

Oh, high clearance or 4WD if you have it. If ya solved that pesky Dream State puzzle, let me know and I'll take you out here in my jeep (lunch and frosty bev's my treat). Did I mention the cool ruins nearby. There's ruins. Maybe the SC Cowboys can tell us who lived there.

Best access is Bear Valley Road (32 44.926 / 116 29.650, be sure to close the gate) then a left on Long Valley Road.

Greg and I were on a mission to get the 3.5/5 difficulty/terrain combo for my final square in the Fizzy challenge. We walked here from the road, and had limited time before dark, so I was planning to skip this one since it was more than 150 feet out of the way. But for some reason he wanted to do it. Luckily it was a quick find.
