The tip of the spear Traditional Cache

Locally known as Arrowhead, the summit of Veristovia awaits your visit.

^{What's in a name?  The cache lies on the summit of Mt. Verstovia if you talk to the USGS.  However, if you talk to a Sitka resident it lies on the summit of Arrowhead but you would get there via the summit of Verstovia if you keep climbing.  USGS would contend that Arrowhead is actually down the ridge.  None the less, the trailhead begins off Sawmill creek road.  There is limited parking.  I have parked .5 miles down the road near back beach and walked to the T.H.  You will climb, and climb, and then climb some more.  The elevation is around 3800 feet.  You will drop 200+ feet from the summit (dare I say of Verstovia?) and get to regain that elevation.  The climb is fun.  Pick a drier day.  The top is craggy.  Pay attention to your down route because it is easy to get mixed up and find yourself amidst the cliffs.  There is allegedly a trail that comes up from Thimbleberry.  I haven't found it and the route I took down to Thimbleberry I wouldn't recommend to anybody.  If you do go up an alternate route from the marked trail, please pass it on. FTF will get a pathtag compliments of Lady Bug Kids and  Geocache Alaska.} http://www.geocachealaska.org/.  Feel free to email me if you need more route descriptions.
