Geocache Description:

A short drive from Custer, SD. Cicero Peak is one of the many abandoned fire lookouts scattered across the hills.

This cache was placed by my 5 year old daughter, Amelia. To get to the cache, take Sidney Park Road and head south from Custer, then southeast on Flynn Creek Road. Follow Flynn Creek Road until you reach Cicero Peak Road. Take Cicero Peak Road all the way to the top. The road is in rough shape but passable with a high clearance vehicle (jeep or pickup truck).

From the parking area at the top, take a look to the north, and with the aid of your binoculars, you will catch a glimse of George Washington's profile at Mt. Rushmore.

Remember pack out what you pack in. Oh, and this area has a seasonal closure to motor vehicles from Dec 15 to May 15. If the gate is closed, it is a about 1.6 miles to your destination.
