Well... we did it! Southern Arizona GeoCachers have
offically adopted this stretch
of the Alamo Wash. Congratulations to everyones's dedication and
hard work
keeping the area clean and beautiful.

Check the update notice
below!
To continue our two month clean up tradition, We're scheduling a
forth event on Saturday Sept 09, 2006, beginning at 0800 (8:00 AM).
Hopefully the monsoons will be over keeping us safe from any
unexpected gully washers. Please notice that the meet-up place is
the same as our CITO event #2 parking location, starting where the
wash intersects Pima Road. After our morning introductions,
socializing, pep talk & instruction, we'll work our way down
into the wash at the Pima Bridge, and then head 'downstream'
(northward) to about midway up the wash or whenever we want to
stop. Cleaning / Maintaining the wash should be a fairly easy task,
since we've already done the hard stuff. Unless, of course, mother
nature left us a surprise with the recent 3" deluge a few weeks
ago.
The meet-up place is as listed at the top of this page: N32°
14.638; W110° 51.829. There appears to be ample parking right at
this location here on Ridgeway Road - just north of Pima Road and
slightly east of the Alamo wash itself.
As before, please bring your choice of special libations,
(re-hydration) material. The event will provide water (in bottles)
and sturdy trash bags. As previous Alamo Wash CITOs, you may want
to bring your own gloves, hats, sunscreen, bug spray, etc. Lastly,
It seems that our last event started another tradition, which I
will continue. There will be a container hidden nearby with all
sorts of goodies to entice improved participation.
Remember starts 8:00 AM on
Saturday Sept 09, 2006 Please, show up early!
Meet at the listed coordinates N32° 14.638; W110°
51.829
Important update: For all those
attending, you need to meet up just before 0800, preferably 5-10
minutes early as we may have visitors. Tucson Clean and Beautiful
is scheduling to have people present at 8am (0800) to do a formal
acknowledgement of our efforts!!!
Please try to be on time, I
think it will be great to show them our smiley faces as well as our
progress.
