Definately won't need to get your wet now, new container is a small tupperware box, painted to be somewhat harder to see than a plan one.
The cache is back after a good drying out and recontainering.
I picked this spot because it is in the middle of the Pacific/West Coast flyway used by migratory waterfowl traveling to and from breeding grounds (also a good spot to watch sun rises and sets). You can have a seat very nearby and look out over the bay, or turn around and look out over a managed wetland. Both areas are heavily frequented by birds year round, at peak migration it is easy to see over a dozen species of ducks and geese alone. If you spend some time with bincoulars two dozen species of assorted birds is easily doable, three dozen not too hard.
Original cache contents are: a logbook, pen and geocache note. As a first to find bonus I have put in a set of unregistered travel bug tags.
The cache is not as small as a film canister but it does not have a large interior, some small items may be put in for trade; but, please do not over stuff it. The cache is water tight (if it can close and latch) because, as you will be able to see when you find it, this area is prone to water...
A drawback to the high migration times is rain; if it has been raining, up the dificulty level a bit as the pathway will get muddy. During the dry season the cache is accessable by just about anyone from stroller users on up. The best spot to park is near the landfill.
